Karen Conyers
Personal Real Estate Corporation, Team Lead for Conyers & Associates
Chair for Kindred Community Farm Sanctuary
As a busy Realtor in the Surrey White Rock area, Karen Conyers has basically lived her whole life in the peninsula. She has a variety of job experiences and has volunteered for various organizations since she was 20 years old. Karen has two adult children, four step-children and five grandchildren.
She began volunteering with United Way as part of her role at BC Tel and it led to many different and amazing relationships, experiences and growth opportunities over the years. Karen continues volunteering because she has something she can contribute, and because it’s the right thing to do.
Her most recent volunteering has been with Kindred Community Farm Sanctuary. It’s a place that brings people, animals and nature together to improve the emotional well-being of children who experience trauma in their lives. The farm is in dire need of a new home and Karen is helping them search for 10 acres somewhere in the Lower Mainland.
Karen believes finding a safe haven is a necessity, not just a wish people have. She’s a firm believer that when people have a safe place to live and sleep well then they’re not as dependent on other things to escape the pain and fear.
